A new controller to bootstrap ceph-crash pod on Ceph nodes running Ceph
pods only.
This implementation is unfortunately a mix of 'hacks' to make the daemon
working correclty. The ceph-crash script faced different issues:
* it's not a daemon
* it does not have any key in cephx
* it runs ceph commands under the hood which need an admin key and a
ceph.conf
On upstream Ceph, ceph-crash needs to grow better, once that happens we
will improve our implementation.
This also enhances osd provisionConfig struct with DataPathMap
Pod volumes and volume mount needs DataPathMap to perform the right
actions on log and crash dir. Exposing DataPathMap makes that possible.
Obviously, this is exposing ceph crash reports on the host as
well as pushing them into the mgr.
Basically, if a daemon fails, it'll put its core dump into
/var/lib/ceph/crash, bindmounting this dir on the host, ensures that the
crashes don't get lost when the pod dies.
Example:
```
an improvement is still to allow the configuration to happen
in parallel for unrelated modules. All of the module configuration
was a manifestation of a race condition identified in Ceph monitors in
On rare occasion, the ceph checks might not be 100% correct and the user
might decide to force an upgrade anyway.
Correctly, if we are in an upgrade, we perform `ok-to-stop` check for
each daemon, if one of them fails, we retry and eventually fail.
They are corner-cases where users would like to force the upgrade anyway.
have a small number of PGs in the cluster if the overall cluster usage is
also low. This setting just results in a health warning out of the box
when you create a pool and haven't written any data yet.
Starting with Nautilus 14.2.1 the dashboard SSL port is readed from <<mgr/dashboard/ssl_server_port>> ceph setting.
Previous versions use the port specified in <<mgr/dashboard/server_port>>
Addressed @travisn suggestion about use of <ssl> attribute in conditional.
This suggestion drove me to change the type of the SSl attribute (from *bool to bool) in the DashboardSpec Struct.
This makes code more clean/safe and make sure that the SSL atribute has always a meaningful value.
Now if you want to run the <secure dashboard> you need to set explicitly SSL to true, as is demonstrated in unit tests.
Do not consider clusterInfo Ceph version since it's the one picked by
the spec image.
The CephVersion provided here needs to be the current running version
of Ceph for when it is later passed to OkToStop and checked with
IsAtLeast. If you are upgrading from a pre 14.2.1 version to a
then fail trying to run mon ok-to-stop on a mon pod running a pre 14.2.1 version.
When a cluster is updated with a different image version, this triggers
a serialized restart of all the pods. Prior to this commit, no safety
check were performed and rook was hoping for the best outcome.
Now before doing restarting a daemon we check it can be restarted. Once
it's restarted we also check we can pursue with the rest of the
platform. For instance, with monitors we check that they are in quorum,
for OSD we check that PGs are clean and for MDS we make sure they are
all active.
To enable multiple mgrs to run properly, we need to set the respective server_addr path with the mgr's name for the modules of each mgr.
When multiple mgrs are running, the modules( e.g. dashboard and Prometheus ) of each mgr need to bind its own server_addr when it is started. The way to get server_addr when ceph mgr starts the module is as follows: first, get the server_addr value by "mgr/<module-name>/<mgr-daemonid>/server_addr" path; and if this path does not exist, then get the server_addr value by" mgr/<module-name>/server_addr" path.
According to the original rook setting for server_addr, the modules of all mgrs take the same server_addr on ceph luminous and mimic, this produces a wrong result that only one mgr's modules can run properly ( the modules of other mgrs failed to start with the wrong server_addr).
This change is made to be compatible with ceph luminous, mimic, and nautilus. and Modify according to: the "HOST NAME AND PORT" description of http://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/mgr/dashboard/ .
It's quite convinient to expose /var/log/ceph so that we can decide to
activate logs locally on the machine and see what's going on.
This is only a placeholder when a daemon is stuck crashlooping and we
want to allow administrator to gather log files.
We still do not log on file but this can be activated via a config
option passed to the centralized config option store.
For some daemons, which typically do not store any data (rgw, rbd-mirror
and mds) we had to propagate dataDirHostPath from the cluster spec to
each creation call so that the bindmount can happen.
