Implement theming for QtCreator Adds a 'Theme' tab to the environment settings and a '-theme' command line option. A theme is a combination of colors, gradients, flags and style information. There are two themes: - 'default': preserves the current default look - 'dark': uses a more flat for many widgets, dark color theme for everything This does not use a stylesheet (too limited), but rather sets the palette via C++ and modifies drawing behavior. Overall, the look is more flat (removed some gradients and bevels). Tested on Ubuntu 14.04 using Qt 5.4 and running on a KDE Desktop (Oxygen base style). Themes: New display names "Default" -> "Classic", "Default Flat" -> "Flat" Also the defaultflat.creatortheme is renamed to flat.creatortheme. The file name of the "Classic" theme remains default.creatortheme in order to make sure that who previously actively switched to another theme and back to default won't suddenly get the flat one. Flat and themeable side bar icons This patch adds flat side bar icons according to http://blog.qt.io/blog/author/didesous/ The flat icons are supposed to be opt-in, via the theme flag "FlatSideBarIcons=true". TextEditor: Unify error/warning icon and textmark colors In most themes, the color of the warning and error icons differ from the color of the corresponding textmarks (on the scroll bars). This patch makes sure that they are the same. Also the progress bar error color is now the same. QmlDesigner: Remove programmatical derivation of theme colors The Qt Quick Designer synthesized a few theme colors from existing theme colors. That was in order to prevent the need for 6 theme colors being defined in every theme. It turned out, however, that being able to define these if favorable. Todo in follow-up commit: remove QmlDesigner::Theme::qmlDesigner...() functions, and fix up the qml, accordingly. Add new theme colors necessary for New Project Dialog on QDS We need colors for the dialog box background, and for warning text messages. Note: We currently don't have carefully picked colors for warning, so I used standard yellow (ffff00). The values, for each theme, will need to be adjusted later on. Update background colors in all themes other than design dark While we have chosen lower contrast lighter values for the design dark theme (via normalBackground and alternateBackground from Palette), the New Project dialog box did not look well on other themes. I have replaced the background colors for those other themes, so that DSBackgroundColorNormal is now set to the value of DSsectionHeadBackground, while DSBackgroundColorAlternate is set to the value of DSpanelBackground, which makes the dialog look more like the property editor. Also, fixed the item delegate in NewProjectView, which had a non-transparent background. This background was visible on light versions of the theme. That was in order to prevent the need for 6 theme colors being defined in every theme. It turned out, however, that being able to define these if favorable. Right now, the only way for a user to find out whether a search term was found is to scan the editor window for marked strings, which is a drag in the negative case. Implement theming for QtCreator Adds a 'Theme' tab to the environment settings and a '-theme' command line option. A theme is a combination of colors, gradients, flags and style information. There are two themes: - 'default': preserves the current default look - 'dark': uses a more flat for many widgets, dark color theme for everything This does not use a stylesheet (too limited), but rather sets the palette via C++ and modifies drawing behavior. Overall, the look is more flat (removed some gradients and bevels). Tested on Ubuntu 14.04 using Qt 5.4 and running on a KDE Desktop (Oxygen base style). The class reads a .creatortheme file (INI file, via QSettings) - Define named colors in the [Palette] section (see dark.creatortheme for example usage) - Use either named colors of AARRGGBB (hex) in the [Colors] section - A file ending with .creatortheme may be supplied to the '-theme' command line option - A global Theme instance can be accessed via creatorTheme() - Query colors, gradients, icons and flags from the theme were possible (TODO: use this in more places...) - There are very many color roles. It seems better to me to describe the role clearly, and then to consolidate later in the actual theme by assigning the same color. For example, one can set the text color of the output pane button individualy. - Many elements are also drawn differently. For the dark theme, I wanted to have a flatter look. - Introduce Theme::WidgetStyle enum, for now {Original, Flat}. - The theme specifies which kind of widget style it wants. - The drawing code queries the theme's style flag and switches between the original, gradient based look and the new, flat look. - Create some custom icons which look better on dark background (wip, currently folder/file icons) - Let ManhattanStyle draw some elements for non-panelwidgets, too (open/close arrows in QTreeView, custom folder/file icons) - For the welcomescreen, pass the WelcomeTheme class. WelcomeTheme exposes theme colors as Q_PROPERTY accessible from .qml - Themes can be modified via the 'Themes' tab in the environment settings. The painting code of the widgets in the project mode follow that instead of the Theme::WidgetStyle. In the course of it, DoubleTabWidget does not imitate the dummy toolbar anymore, but calls the style painting code, instead. That makes the theme color DoubleTabWidget1stEmptyAreaBackgroundColor obsolete, so that key disappears from the Theme enum and also from the creatorthemes.
