838c0ad956 Make a few more shortcuts/actions raise the main window. 
Also make registerShortcut set an application shortcut.
That is necessary when the user opened a separate editor window.

f47a916c53 Save settings on mode changes 
This partly addresses QTCREATORBUG-7754: Settings are lost way less
often this way. We do not really want to save whenever settings might
have been touched, so this seems like a good compromise to me.

Most modes at least have some view specific settings that need saving,
so lets just save everything on each mode change. Settings are only
written to disk if they really changed nowadays, so this should be fine.

b0cd54c1ec Replace Q_WS_MAC with Q_OS_MAC. 
We want to carry over all mac-specific code paths
to Qt 5. WS_MAC is no longer set; OS_MAC is.

This change is compatible with Qt 4 builds since
OS_MAC is set whenever WS_MAC is. (OS_MAC would
also be set for the theoretical X11/Mac platform,
but that's anyway not a supported configuration
for Creator)

- Wrap literals in QLatin1String()/QLatin1Char().
- Extract some string constants avoiding repeated

0078bb0802 Avoid use of QKeySequence::isEmpty in checks in command implementations. 
isEmpty is the wrong thing to check when setting the default shortcut. In addition,
registering commands should not set their shortcut automatically (that
should be defined solely by the default shortcut and reading the
settings, which is done later).

08ccda5862 EditorManager: Change openEditor/activateEditor to not do mode switching 
Also introduce a indirection, modes have now types, edit and debug have
the same type, and editors do have a prefered type of modes instead of a
prefered mode.

That fixes the bug that if the prefered qml editing mode was set to
design, then in switching between qml editors would
- in Edit Mode: stay in edit mode
- in Debug Mode: switch to debug mode

5b1cebc989 Ensure always having a mode 
Switch to Edit Mode once we constructed it in Core::init(). Switch to a

510971d216 Introduced a single convenient function for updating additional contexts 
While before you had to call add, then remove for each context id and
then call update, now you call updateAdditionalContexts with a list of
contexts to remove and add. It has the update step built in.

c4d1553da4 Add first version of a new sidebar, including project selector. 
The project selector also allows to select targets.
However, this is not yet used, since the necessary
changes are still being stabilized.
