Where long is anything with more then 80 chars. That number looked okay
on my machine.

This fixes the problem described in the bug report, but leaves the
tooltip still in a ugly state as it breaks at almost random points.
Without making assumptions about the content of environment variables,
that's as good as the breaking can be.

The class' member functions are intended to be used
instead of the Q_OS_* macros in all contexts where
the latter are not syntactically required.
This lowers the likelihood of changes made on one
platform breaking the build on another, e.g. due to
the code model missing symbols in #ifdef'ed out code
when refactoring.
