Michael Adam 8a80743bf8 build: let checkmake pass locally 
checkmake was locally still failing
despite previous partial fixes,
complaining about a duplicate definition of
build.common.

build.common was duplicate:
Once for a  target specific variable setting and once for the
dependencies and recipe.

This change fixes make checkmake locally
by adding an extra target build.common.var
just for setting the variable.

Michael Adam b549134b6a build: silence maxbodylength errors from checkmake 
make checkmake was failing locally due to recipes of some
targets being considered too long.

This change works around this by raising the default maximum
body length from 5 lines to 8 lines with a config file

This helps with getting checkmake to pass locally.

Michael AdamandCopilot 3aef40c7f7 build: clean HELPTEXT variable 
The HELPTEXT Makefile variable contained a string
"available options:"at the start of a line.
This could be confused as a target
(for example by checkmake).

This change fixes the problem by extracting the string
out of the variable

Michael Adam a33bc2a0d8 build: make checkmake target self-contained 
make checkmake depended on checkmake being available in the PATH.

This change makes it selfcontained by usin go run
to run checkmake without installation.

This also pins checkmake to the latest released version v0.3.2

parth-gr aa12b5c00c rgw: cephobjectstoreuser should create correct ipv6 formatted secret 
currently the ipv6 parsing was not done right,
so the ipv6 endpoint was skewed,
It was happening at multiple places for external mode
1) cephobjectstore status
2) cephobjectstoreuser secret
3) and more places where GetAdvertiseEndpointUrl is called

so fixed the GetAdvertiseEndpointUrl func to make use of ipv6 address

The osd unit tests periodically fail with a timing issue
when canceling an orchestration. Attempt to stabilize
the test with a longer timeout before canceling the
test.

Michael Adam 2f6b7531a6 build: reorganize PHONY target declarations 
most phony targets in the Makefile were declared phony
by grouping multiple targets in  long combined .PHONY
statements which obfuscates the phony nature of a target
to some extent.

This change makes the phony target declarations a bit more obvious
and explicit
by prepending each phony target by a corresponding
individual .PHONY statement and removing the confusing combined .PHONY
line.

Michael Adam 4ed4c04550 docs: clean topics section of ceph troubleshooting guide 
The topics section  of the ceph common problems troubleshooting guide
contained many subsection entries for symptoms, investigation and
solution.

Apart from not having working links,
these subsection entries  don't add any real value:
They are well visible within the overarching section
and in the toc on the right side.

This change cleans the toc by removing these unnecessary subsection
entries.

This also reduces the number of nonexisting anchor messages
of make docs-build from 50 to 18.

Santosh 475fc7c7a6 osd: check devlinks while cleaning osd disks 
In getOSDDiskToBeWiped(), when the RealPath doesn't match the device path reported by ceph-volume, also check each entry in the space-separated DevLinks string. This handles the case where ceph-volume raw list reports an LVM symlink (e.g. /dev/rhel/ceph-data) that differs from the resolved RealPath (e.g. /dev/mapper/rhel-ceph--data).

make docs-build in the CI issued a lot of messages
about env.raw_markdown being removed.

While looking like error messages, these did not result in
build failures.

This change silences make docs-build by
using env.markdown instead
